PROGRAM


Educational Objectives

  • Provide practical and advanced skills in the use of CLO3D for fashion design.
  • Guide the student from basic knowledge of the interface to the creation of acomplete digital collection..
  • Develop the ability to simulate fabrics, fit, proportions, and realistic rendering.
  • Integrate CLO3D with professional workflows (technical sheets, rendering, exports for portfolio).


DETAILED PROGRAM

Module 1 – Introduction and Interface (6h)

  • Overview of the software and main tools.
  • Work settings (units of measurement, avatar, workspace).
  • 2D and 3D navigation.
  • Library of fabrics and preset models.


Module 2 – Creation of Digital Patterns (12h)

  • Designing basic patterns (shirt, t-shirt, pants, skirt).
  • Importing patterns from Illustrator (DXF/Ai).
  • Tools for modifying and adapting patterns
  • Adding seam allowances and notches


Module 3 – Virtual Sewing and Assembly (8h)

  • Virtual sewing techniques
  • Managing complex seams (tailored garments, jackets)
  • Controlling tensions and real-time simulation
  • Troubleshooting common issues in simulation


Module 4 – Avatar and Fit (6h)

  • Creating and customizing avatars (measurements, gender, sizes)
  • Virtual dressing and fit analysis
  • Avatar in motion (poses, walking, short animations)


Module 5 – Fabrics and Materials (10h)

  • CLO3D fabric library and importing custom fabrics
  • Physical parameters of fabrics (weight, elasticity, thickness)
  • Creating custom textures (Photoshop/Illustrator → CLO3D)
  • Simulations of draping and material fall


Module 6 – Design Details (10h)

  • Buttons, zippers, collars, complex sleeves, pockets, linings
  • Graphic applications (prints, logos, repeated patterns)


Module 7 – Rendering and Presentation (10h)

  • Lighting and virtual sets
  • Photorealism with 3D Rendering
  • Creating promotional images and videos
  • Brief introduction topost-production in Photoshop


Module 8 – Final Project: Mini Digital Collection (8h)

  • Conceptualizing and creating amini collection of 4 complete outfits
  • Digital moodboard and fabric palette
  • Final rendering in images and animation
  • Preparation of a digital portfolio for presentations

  • Design and present a complete mini digital collection using CLO3D.
