PROGRAM


Module 1 – Introduction to fabric painting and color (30 hours)

  • History and applications of fabric painting

  • Brief overview of fashion and the role of decoration

  • Color theory: shades, contrasts, harmonies

  • Basic tools and materials (brushes, paints, frames, fixatives)

  • Simple exercises of application and color control

Output:small board with color and texture samples.

Module 2 – Knowledge of fabrics (30 hours)

  • Difference between natural and synthetic fibers

  • Behavior of different fabrics on painting

  • Preparation of the support

  • Choosing the right color for each type of fiber

  • First tests of decoration on cotton and silk

Output:sample of 5–6 painted fabrics with practical tests.

Module 2 – Knowledge of fabrics (30 hours)

• Difference between natural and synthetic fibers

• Behavior of different fabrics when painted

• Preparation of the support

• Choosing the right color for each type of fiber

• Initial decoration tests on cotton and silk Output: sample of 5–6 painted fabrics with practical tests.

Module 3 – Basic techniques of fabric painting (60 hours)

  • Direct painting with a brush

  • Stenciling and sponging

  • Masking and blending

  • Simple decorative effects (metallic, pearlized, glossy)

  • Fixing and drying

  • Brief introduction to manual printing (stamps and matrices)

Output:small project of decorated fabric (swatch 50x50 cm).

Module 4 – Creativity and fashion trends (40 hours)

  • Introduction to researching trends (observation and interpretation)

  • Moodboard and decorative sketch

  • Exercises in composition and basic patterns

  • Color/fashion matching

  • Simple applications on garments or accessories

Output:2 decorative sketches and 1 final fabric inspired by trends.

Module 5 – Final project (40 hours)
• Development of a simple personal project
• Choice of fabric, design, technique
• Creation of the prototype
• Final presentation and discussion

Output: complete decorated fabric (e.g. scarf, t-shirt, clutch).

ADVANCED COURSE – Fabric Painting and Creative Development for Fashion

PROGRAM

Duration:200 hours

Level:advanced / professional

Objective:to deepen the artistic and design techniques to create painted surfaces on fabric applicable professionally in fashion or textile design.

Module 1 – Aesthetic research and contemporary trends (30 hours)

  • Advanced analysis of trends (WGSN, Vogue Runway, textile fairs)

  • Professional moodboard and visual storytelling

  • Study of artistic references and cross-disciplinary contaminations

  • Analysis of collections and innovative materials

  • Concept design: from idea to textile project

Output:research dossier and visual concept.

Module 2 – Materials and technical supports (25 hours)

  • Advanced study of fibers, technical fabrics and innovative materials

  • Interaction between painting and the structure of the fabric

  • Professional treatments and preparations (priming, degreasing, fixing)

  • Verification of color fastness and durability over time

Output:technical sample with comparative tests and technical sheet.

Module 3 – Advanced painting techniques and experimentation (55 hours)

  • Free and gestural painting on large surfaces

  • Overlays and controlled transparencies

  • Mixed techniques: screen printing, airbrush, resins, special mediums

  • Integration between manual painting and digital printing

  • Effects of texture, craquelé, material layering

  • Professional fixing, additives and sustainability of materials

Output:collection of experimental fabrics using mixed techniques.

Module 4 – Decorative design and fashion applications (50 hours)

  • Development of a complex pattern and repeatable module

  • Technical drawing and digitization (Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator basic)

  • Textile coordinates for garments and accessories

  • Presentation of the project in moodboard and physical prototype

  • Applications on finished garments

Output:mini collection of 3–5 painted and applied fabrics.

Module 5 – Durability, quality and professional presentation (40 hours)

  • Tests of fastness (washing, light, abrasion)

  • Finishes and protective varnishes

  • Technical documentation of the creative process

  • Professional portfolio and photo shoot of the projects

  • Final presentation and evaluation

Output:portfolio and final project ready for the fashion or textile design industry.
