ADVANCED COURSE - METHODOLOGIES FOR FASHION COLLECTION DESIGN
PROGRAM
PHASE 1 – Advanced Research and Critical Analysis (Weeks 1–6)
- Analysis of contemporary dynamics in the fashion system
- Study of global trends and main research sources (agencies, fairs, social media, digital archives)
- Construction of a visual and textual research notebook
- Analysis of the role of subcultures and artistic movements as sources of inspiration
- Discussion: how a trend becomes a collection
PHASE 2 – Brand Identity and Creative Direction (Weeks 7–12)
- Analysis of contemporary brand identities
- Key elements of a brand identity: language, target, values
- Visual reinterpretation of a brand through mood boards and color palettes
- Development of a concept consistent with the brand's DNA
- Storytelling and visual narration applied to design
PHASE 3 – Concept Design and Creative Experimentation (Weeks 13–20)
- From abstract theme to visual concept
- Techniques of visual and narrative storytelling
- Experimental workshops: collage, manual illustration, mixed media, digital
- Creation of unconventional conceptual moodboards (sensory, tactile, auditory)
- Building a concept book that collects research and experiments
PHASE 4 – Advanced Collection Design (Weeks 21–28)
- From research to project: defining the creative direction
- Designing a mini collection of 10–12 looks
- Consistency between concept, moodboard, color palette, and materials
- Creation of basic technical sheets
- Collective review and progressive advancement of projects
PHASE 5 – Final Project Work (Weeks 29–32)
- Individual assignment of a thematic brief or a real brand
- Designing a capsule collection of 10 looks in line with the assigned brand
- Creation of moodboards, color palette, material folder, and coherent research notebook
- Creation of a professional collection book (illustrated figures + technical sheets)
- Presentation simulation in front of a committee/company
- Final individual review and building of the personal portfolio
- Preparation for external presentation (interviews, internships)

At the end of the course, the participant will be able to:
- Develop the student's ability to build and manage complex fashion collection projects.
- Consolidate skills in trend research, in the construction of mood boards, color palettes, and materials at a professional level.
- Deepen the critical analysis of brands, the market, and sociocultural phenomena as project drivers.
- Provide the tools to translate a narrative concept into coherent and competitive collections.
- Prepare the student for the professional presentation of their work in portfolio format, ready for internships or jobs in the fashion industry.
